Partner interview focus on more discussion than formal competency based interview .Normally, senior manager would ask the candidates to describe how they will act if given a particular situation. For instance, a question from PricewaterhouseCoopers Company in Malaysia (PwC) for the candidates, asking that if you were senior partner at PwC, what would keep you up at night? Besides that, partner interview also focuses on commitment to career and commercial awareness competencies in PwC. Commitment to career is a capability should enable candidates to illustrate in job interviews. Interviewers will always try to investigate how much the candidates know about their organization. For example, the position they apply for, the industry they will work in and what they will be doing if they are employed. Hence, commitment to a career is a highly valued capability to employers because they can determine whether a candidate is a good investment. Furthermore, commercial awareness is the competen cy to observe the scenario from a commercial or business perspective. It follows what makes a business successful by the purchasing and trading of goods and services and the factors that affect success. In addition, the interview in PwC will also have a competency based interview conducted by their Manager from the line or service Senior Manager to which candidates had applied. It is given approximately 45 minutes to conduct the interview. It will focus mainly on candidates resumes and previous experiences. Candidates will be evaluated on core competencies. PwC have judged are vital to all employees to possess. These are commitment to career, commercial awareness, teamwork, motivation, initiative, flexibility and communicating with impact. Interview questions that will be provided for graduate candidates at PwC, just like the others of the Big 4 Company, are standardized. They normally will be asked some interview questions like, What are your development areas?, What do you think is your strengths?, What is the reason that make you want to leave your present job? and many more. After this, candidates may be called up for first interview. After candidates pass initial screening, they will be called up for paper assessment and behavioral interview session. Finally, those candidates who pass the interview and assessment will be hired and get confirmation. KPMG conducts technical interview, which is used to assess candidates for speci alist graduate job positions. Candidates will be asked about the technologies applied and process employed. Although there are several types of interview that companies can apply, an effective interview is the most important aspect for the companies to hire the best candidate that are applying for the job. The interviewers are expected to prepare for the interview, formulate questions to ask the interviewees, conduct the interview and match the candidates to the job that suits them. The interviewers should make sure that the candidates know the requirements of the vacancy such as job description, experiences and skills that are required. The candidates details and application data are read and any questions or clarifications concerning the details are prepared before conducting the interview. Questions relating to the skills, experiences, and knowledge should be asked too. Aid in Changing and Improving the Company's Organizational Culture A Proposal to Change and Improve the Company's Organizational Culture All aspects of this proposal are based on a fictitious situation. I will summaries the aspects of the organizational culture and the aspects that could improve the culture of this fictitious organization. I currently hold the position of manager at a small, privately owned coffee bistro/book store. I have been an employee there for 3 years and have held the management title for 6 months. There are a total of 11 employees of differing sections.As cited by Greenberg an organizational culture Is the shared beliefs, expectations, or core values of the all the people within the organization (Schneider, 1990). The proposal outline will be structured around this premise. The organizational culture of the organization where I work There are 6 different kinds of cultures wealth organizations. They are sensitively to others, Interest in new ideas, willingness to take risks, value placed on people, openness of available communication options, and friendliness and congeniality Martin, 1996).I have observed that the organization for which I work embodies 4 of these, which I will discuss in detail in the final report. I also plan to discuss the influence that the owner has had on this culture as well as how the organization has what is referred to as a market culture. As manager I run the organization on behalf of the owner, who is the foremost authority. An organizations culture may be either strong or weak. I believe that we have the latter, as some employees have stated that they feel uninspired by the work that they do.It is my belief that the culture is a relatively healthy one because the employees are valued members of the team and their opinions are respected. However, it can be improved. How new employees are accommodated in my organization In my experience a new employee is always warmly welcomed and informed (by either the owner, manager or colleagues) of the policies, beliefs, and expectations of the organization. Each employee will have an orientation week (which includes necessary training) when they begin their employ.Other than the training, as anger I offer guidance as well as leading by example. How I could improve the culture of my organization I believe that I could assist in improving the culture by making use of the method of organizational memory. A statement of principle would lad In reinforcing the owners vowels. I also suggest that a more ethical organizational culture Is encouraged and will examine the Importance of this as well as how It can be accomplished through leadership and fellow employees.The concept of creatively within the Individual and am Is vital and should be encouraged, this may encourage any employee that feels the work Is not Inspiring or fulfilling. I also suggest regular staff meetings to keep all up to date with progress or hindrances. It Is Important to reward excellenc e and accept mistakes, ensuring that a culture of open-communication can be established (Matheson, 201 3) . Offering incentives to new employees by rewarding their good on to others. The rewards and incentives do not need any monetary support as there are many ways, which will be provided in the report, to do so without cost. Reports of computer security failures appear frequently in the daily new. Cite a reported failure that exemplified one (or more) of the principles listed in the chapter: easiest penetration, adequate protection, effectiveness, weakest link. There has been a lot of reports of security breaches in the news, for example the Sony Playstation Network, RSA Lockheed Martin compromise, Hyundai and so on, these have been of recent and these all show how vulnerable we are to security threats out there on the world wide web which has very little to do with borders of the country or state. The Internet is a gateway of information all over the word where people are connected and providing and absorbing information. Many of the security restrictions that apply in a physical sense do not in the cyber world. I have picked the Sony Playstation Network (PSN) compromise as my topic of discussion to show the areas covered in chapter one that talk about penetration, protection, effectiveness, weakest link. A successful penetration into the PSN by the attacker, has compromised peoples credit card information, birthdates, addresses, phone numbers and more. The successful penetration was delivered disguised in the form of a purchase as stated by Sony Chief Information Officer Shinji Hajesima (Ogg, 2011). The systems were unable to detect the attack going through as it went through has a purchase transaction. This show lack of adequate protection, in the article it also mentions that the vulnerability that was exploited by the hacker was also known. This shows that it is absolutely important to make sure that the patches for known vulnerabilities are deployed and the systems are patched accordingly, though one may argue if the patching introduces other forms of vulnerability. The successful exploitation of the system led to the loss of personal details of up to 70 million (Schreier, 2011) customers, this information could be used for identity theft, credit card theft, and besides that the down time for customers who are using the system that they have paid for. The effectiveness of this attack is shown by the shutdown of the PSN for a number of days. This shows that the effectiveness of the protection on this system was lacking, the inability to pickup on the intrusion as it happened and thus showing us a weak link in the system security. The article shows us the combination of things that have come into play that have led to the successful compromise of the PSN network. Starting with the vulnerability that was known by Sony with the systems and left unattended, secondly the inability of the intrusion detection system to pick up the actual attack or the delivery of the malformed data that exploited the vulnerability to permit access to the attacker, lastly the storage of data in an unencrypted but hashed form which is reversible to obtain the credentials and personal details of the PSN users or customers.
